Assistant Harbour Master,

As instructed by you I proceeded on Saturday

last, the 2nd instant, to a position off the entrance to

Mirs Bay.

The Latitude and Longitude of five positions

pointed out to me by Police Witnesses were taken, and with

the exception of one, these positions were within one

tenth of a mile of Latitude 220 22' 06" North, Longitude

1140 24 18" East.

The exception was that of Lai Fook, Coxswain

of the Steam Launch "Sai Kung". This position was in

Latitude 220 22' 00" North, Longitude 1140 23 45" East

approximately half a mile nearer Conic Island than the

other four.

All five positions were within 1 mile of the

coast and therefore well inside British Waters.

(sgd.) D.G. Cairns.

Chief Boarding Officer.

4.3.40.
